Can I create PDF files?
Yes, the software is available in ERC 105 only. Create your
document in Word. Click on File > Print. Click on the drop down
box for the printer name and choose 1-step RoboPDF. Your file
will open in PDF format and you can choose to save it, print it, or
email it.
Does LSUA filter e-mail?
LSUA does not filter e-mail; however, we will abide by the Acceptable Use Policy.
Does LSUA filter Internet use?

How can I find out my username?
To determine your username to go http://username.lsua.edu - type in the required information. Click Get Username.
How can I view a PDF file?
To view PDF files you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. To download this free program visit www.adobe.com . Follow the on screen directions.
How do I get a user account for SMARThinking.com?
Contact Ms. Kathy Wimmert in Student Services (above the bookstore) for a user name and password. Then visit www.smarthinking.com and enter your log in information.
How do I get a user account for Turnitin.com?
Your teacher will give you a Class ID number and Class enrollment password. Then you will visit www.turnitin.com and click on “Create a User Profile”. Use the Class ID number and password to enroll in the class.
How do I log into a computer at LSUA?
First you will need your username and password (http://username.lsua.edu). After you know your username and password you will press, Ctrl-Alt-Del. These are three seperate keys on the keyboard. Type your username, press the tab key, type your password and press the Enter key.

I forgot my password, how can I change it or reset it?
To change or reset your password go http://username.lsua.edu - type in the required information. You will be asked to Create a Password and then Confirm the Password. Click Get Username to complete the process.
What are PDF files?
PDF files are Portable Document Files that can be read with a free downloadable program called Acrobat Reader. This allows someone to open and read your document even if they don’t have the software that you used to create it.
What is (Desire2Learn) D2L?
D2L is a course management system where instructors place course syllabi, course documents, grades, and make announcements concerning the course. Some instructors use D2L as their only means of class – meaning that their class is taught 100% online. Classes such as this are listed in the Schedule of Class as having a section number in the 90’s, typically 93 and 94.

What is Turnitin.com?
Turnitin.com is a website that allows you to submit a term paper to have it checked for plagiarism before you turn it in to your teacher. It also allows for peer review of your paper.
Where is a CD burner available for student use?
There is a CD burner available for student use on all computers in ERC 105 and in the TLC lab. However, this is for work related to school. Remember not to violate copyright laws.
Where is a color printer available for student use?
A color printer is available in ERC 105.
Where is a copier available for student use?
A printer is available in the library for student use. There is a charge for this service.
Where is a fax machine available for student use?
Students may use the fax machine in the book store. There is a charge for this service.
Where is a scanner available for student use?
There is a scanner available for student use on the graphing station desk in ERC 105.
Why am I unable to print documents in a computer lab?
1) Computers are set to print 10 pages per print request. If the document is more than 10 pages you will need to send a print command multiple times. Remember pages 1-9 is 10 pages.
2) Check the printer - it could be out of paper or have too many print jobs which has stalled the printer. Contact IET Services Helpdesk if there are multiple print jobs waiting to be printed. To determine the number of print jobs double click on the printer icon in the lower right hand corner of the taskbar.
3) You may have ran out of allowable pages to print. Contact IET Services Helpdesk at 473-6421.
