  • How do I enroll in a distance course?
  • How do I get my username and password?
    After the application and admissions process is completed and all fees have been paid go to http://username.lsua.edu to retrieve your username and password. Typically username and passwords will be available for new students by 5 p.m. the Friday before the semester is set to start.
  • How do I purchase my textbooks?
    To view required and optional textbooks and to purchase books go to LSU Alexandria's Bookstore.

  • Can I use the Library?
    There are online Library resources available to LSU Alexandria students through the Bolton Library.

  • How do I view my courses?
    Most distance courses will be delivered through LSU Alexandria's course management system, Desire2Learn. The username and password you have will log you into my.LSUA, from there you have access to e-mail, Desire2Learn, and a number of other student services. If you need help using Desire2Learn (aka D2L) please look over the online orientation for Desire2Learn.

  • Do I have an LSUA e-mail account?
    Yes, every student at LSU Alexandria has an e-mail account. If your password has expired or you have lost/forgotten your password you may change your password at http://username.lsua.edu. For new students your e-mail account will be activated once you have registered and paid fees. Typically your username and password will be available by 5 p.m. the Friday before the semester is due to begin.

    • course work: contact your instructor. Typically contact information can be located on the syllabus in Desire2Learn. Log in to Desire2Learn and click on Content in the light blue navigation bar.
  • When attempting to listen to pager alarms under My Preferences in Desire2Learn I have broken links, how can I fix that?
    1. Open Internet Explorer - go to Tools - Internet Options
    2. Click on the Advanced tab, scroll down to Java (Sun), uncheck Use Java, do not restart at this time.
    3. Go to the following URL (http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html)
    4. Click Download for the appropriate installation for your system. (ie Windows or Macintosh)
    5. Click Run and follow the on-screen prompts.
    6. You will be prompted to restart your computer.
  • I am unable to view equations in Desire2Learn, how can I fix that?
    1. Open Internet Explorer - go to Tools - Internet Options

  • My instructor has uploaded an Impatica file, but all I see is a gray box, how can I fix that?

    • Left-click the link above
    • Select Open
    • Maximize the window, if not already maximized
    • Press Tab to switch between gray information boxes
    • When the gray box is selected, begin typing the required information.
    • Once the form is completed - go to File - Save As and save the form to your computer or media
    • Print the form and attach a copy of the syllabus and turn in to your Department Chair for approval.
